A bump button temporarily turns on a dimmer output for testing.  On RC4 Series 3 dimmers, the Set A, Set B, Set C, and Set D buttons act as bump buttons when there is no DMX data signal present.  This makes it easy to build and test a prop or set piece without the need for a working transmitter and DMX controller.
