Select a System ID on an RC4Magic DMXio

I. Setting System IDs on a DMXio transceiver

A. These procedures are identical on all RC4Magic Series 2 and Series 3 devices with 5 buttons, including the DMXio transceiver and all 4-channel RC4Magic dimmers, 2.4GHz and 900MHz gear.

B. RC4Magic System IDs are private and unique to every user and project:

1. Your ID codes belong only to you and no one else.

2. Private IDs ensure that when everyone follows the same procedure to select  ID0, ID1 , ID2 or unrelated systems will never connect or interfere with each other.  Only RC4Magic provides this level of system data security.

3. The Public ID (ID3, code 999) is common to all RC4Magic systems ever manufactured.  It allows unrelated systems to be combined intentionally if desired.

C. When a device with default settings is powered up, the first yellow LED will blink several times, indicating ID0:

1. The default ID on any RC4Magic device is ID0 ID0.

2. A different blink pattern may appear if an ID other than ID0 is currently selected.

II. Setting ID0:

A. Power to the RC4Magic device should be removed, the device must be off to start.

B. Press and hold the ID0 button.

C. Apply power while the button is held down.

D. The first yellow LED will blink several times.

E. Release the ID0 button.

III. Setting ID1:

A. Power to the RC4Magic device should be removed, the device must be off to start.

B. Press and hold the ID1 button.

C. Apply power while the button is held down.

D. The green LED (beside the yellow LED) will blink several times.

E. Release the ID1 button.

IV. Setting ID2:

A. Power to the RC4Magic device should be removed, the device must be off to start.

B. Press and hold the ID2 button.

C. Apply power while the button is held down.

D. The yellow and green LEDs will blink together, in sync, several times.

E. Release the ID2 button.

V. Setting ID3 (Public):

A. Power to the RC4Magic device should be removed, the device must be off to start.

B. Press and hold the ID3 button (Public ID).

C. Apply power while the button is held down.

D. The yellow and green LEDs will toggle back and forth several times.

E. Release the ID3 button.

VI. Once an ID is set in a unit, it will remain set until it is changed or the unit is restored to the factory settings.

VII. The ID blink patterns are indicated on the bottom label of the DMXio transceiver:

A. These patterns are the same for all RC4Magic Series 3 devices.
